Although the anthology is supposed to be about women, the number of stories written from the perspective of women is very low. The women in these stories, the so-called dangerous women, appear as secondary characters, only seen from a man's perspective. It's an anthology dedicated to men who meet dangerous women, rather than to the women themselves/5().   Sharon Rudahl's "A Dangerous Woman" covers the life of a well-known anarchist around the turn of the century. Sharon's art is very appropriate for a fiery speechmaker; the plot as presented by Sharon never drags, and you get a book and a movie at the same time!5/5(2).

Dangerous Women gives fifty wide-ranging perspectives on these questions. If you lack female idols, this book is for you. If you want to challenge the narrative that a powerful woman is a threat, this inclusive and diverse book is for you. Dangerous Women is for anyone and everyone who questions how to be dangerous, and indeed what that means. Grannies, geishas, warriors, mystics, recluses, and predators_these are the dangerous women of traditional China. Through her exploration of the myth and history of the Ming, Victoria B. Cass brings their world brilliantly to life. In a culture that is resoundingly patriarchal, these women are a vivid counterpoint. Violating state-sponsored orthodoxies, the granny mocks and mimics, the geisha 4/5(1).

A Dangerous Woman is Susan Ronald's revealing biography of Florence Gould, fabulously wealthy socialite and patron of the arts, who hid a dark past as a Nazi collaborator in ’s Paris.. Born in turn-of-the-century San Francisco to French parents, Florence moved to Paris at the age of eleven. Believing that only money brought respectability and happiness, she became the third wife of Frank. An incredible true story of passion, espionage and double crossing that encircled the globe, A Very Dangerous Woman brings her extraordinary world vividly to life with dramatic resonances to rival the most sensational novel. The book’s account of the Lockhart Affair is particularly fascinating, recreating the paranoid, anti-Western world Released on: Febru

A dangerous woman is the fictional story of 32yr old Martha Horgan, a woman with mental disability which lends itself to social awkwardness. The book opens with an uncomfortable scene from Martha's adolescence which stems from her inability to see that not everyone is honest (like she is- to a fault) or has her best intentions in mind/5.

All new and original to this anthology, the twenty-one stories in Dangerous Women include work by twelve New York Times bestsellers, and seven stories set in the authors' bestselling continuities--including a new "Outlander" story by Diana Gabaldon, a tale of Harry Dresden's world by Jim Butcher, a story from Lev Grossman set in the world of The Magicians, and a 35,word novella by George R.

/5(). Dangerous Women (edited by George R.R. Martin) is a collection of stories that probably are better described as novellas. They are long, well developed and something to sink into on their own.

I confess to struggling a bit with the title, “ Becoming a Dangerous Woman,” for my book which Seal Press is publishing in ing myself a dangerous woman — which I did, unexpectedly, in an episode I share in the book — still feels a bit, well, dangerous, and I readily admit to some second thoughts about declaring it even more widely and boldly as the title of the book.
